IISER Pune MSc Programs

The two-year Master of Science (MSc) programme at IISER Pune is a new programme, launched in the Academic year 2022-2023.

The MSc programme is currently offered in the departments of Chemistry, Mathematics & Earth and Climate Sciences.

Areas of study

Organic Chemistry, Biological chemistry, Chemical biology, Organometallic chemistry, Main group chemistry, Transition metal chemistry, Electrochemistry, Materials Chemistry, Catalysis, Spectroscopy, Quantum chemistry, Computational chemistry, Theoretical chemistry, etc.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria

Students with a minimum of 60% marks overall percentage (not only in majoring subject) OR an equivalent C.G.P.A on a 10-point scale (For SC, ST, and PwD candidates, 55% overall percentage or an equivalent C.G.P.A on a 10-point scale) in BSc or an equivalent degree with Chemistry as one of the main subjects.

AND

Qualified JAM 2024 (Chemistry). The rank must be valid at the time of admission. Candidates will be shortlisted based on JAM rank.

Candidates in the final year of their Bachelor’s degree are also eligible to apply. However, their final selection is subject to their successful completion of the Bachelor’s degree with the above-mentioned requirements at the time of admission.

  • Only online applications will be accepted. Incomplete applications will be rejected.
  • The candidates must carefully fill and submit the online application form on or before April 30, 2024.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria

1. Minimum 60% marks in aggregate (overall percentage; not only in majoring subject) or an equivalent C.G.P.A on a 10-point scale (55% or an equivalent C.G.P.A on a 10-point scale in aggregate for SC, ST, and PwD candidates) in B.Sc. any specialization or B.Tech.

AND

2. (a) Qualified JAM 2024* in MA or MS only. Candidates will be shortlisted based on JAM rank.

OR

2. (b) Qualified NBHM 2024* examination for Masters Scholarships. Candidates will be shortlisted based on NBHM score.

*The rank/ score must be valid at the time of admission.

Candidates in the final year of their Bachelor’s degree are also eligible to apply. However, their final selection is subject to their successful completion of the Bachelor’s degree with the above-mentioned requirements at the time of admission.

1. Minimum 60% marks in aggregate (overall percentage; not only in majoring subject) or an equivalent C.G.P.A on a 10-point scale (55% or an equivalent C.G.P.A on a 10-point scale in aggregate for SC, ST, and PwD candidates) in B.Sc. in Geology/Geological Science/Geoscience/Earth Science with Mathematics/Physics/Chemistry course(s) at B.Sc. level. Students should have Mathematics at 10+2 level.
