IIT Hyderabad PhD Admission 2024 (July) Application Process
For the PhD admission IIT Hyderabad has a centralized online application portal.
Candidates are requested to visit official website of IIT Hyderabad for filling the application.
Steps to Apply Online
- Step 1 – Registration
- Registration Page will ask you to provide a valid login id, email address and password. Please note that we will use this email address for further communication with you.
- Step 2 – Login in to the System
- Please Provide the login id and password which you had chosen at the time of Registration with the system. (When ever you login first time our system will ask you for secret key which you received through the email at the time of registration).
- Step 3 – Click on Apply
- Click on the link ‘Click here to apply’ and Choose the department by clicking on arrow of corresponding department
- Step 4 – Fill or update your application details
- Fill or update your application details by clicking on appropriate arrows. Please note that once you fill or update the information in the appropriate form you need to click on either save/submit button so that your data will be stored in our system.
- Step 5 – Pay Application Fee
- Pay fee through SBI-Collect.
- At the time of paying the fee please save the reference document you received from the bank.
- Save ‘SB Collect Reference Number’ in Payment Reference Number column of Application Fee Page
- Upload the reference document by clicking the link provided in Checklist page
- Step 6 – Submit your application
- Submit your application by clicking on ‘Submit Application’ button. Unless You submit the application by pressing the above button your application will not be considered. Merely saving (clicking the save button) the application will not be enough.
- Step 7 – Print Application
- After submission you should take printout of your application by clicking on the ‘Print Application’ button.
Note
- If you are called for the Written test/Interview you need to carry all your documents, printout of your application , payment reference document and certificates with you.
- One can apply to several departments. If you want to apply to several departments you need to fill a separate application for each department you want to apply. To fill your application for the department “XYZ” first login to our system and choose “XYZ” in the list of department names. Please note that you need to fill all your details for each department. Please note that you need to pay the application fee separately for each department.

Direct PhD Admission for Meritorious Students from Centrally Funded Institutions
Ph.D. Admission into Direct PhD (2023) for meritorious CFI students is now open.
- Applications are invited for admission into Direct PhD exclusively from CFIs (IITs, NITs, IISc & IISERs)
- Meritorious B.Tech / B.Des/M.Sc students (for science depts.) scored 9 CGPA and above in the graduation are the minimum eligibility criteria to apply.
- The selected scholars are eligible to get the fellowship for 4 years ( Rs.40000 for I & II year and Rs.45000 for III & IV year)
